Installation: photographic wallprint 1000x300 cm, wooden columns 200x10x10 cm, 2014// Adventure Playground depicts a scene of a family surviving a flood. The natural disaster referred to in the piece is real* but its use also serves as a metaphor for the current economic crisis in Bulgaria, and the unstable human condition globally. The precarious structure the family occupies is their pirate ship, built from scraps and displaying culturally specific elements: wooden columns from the Bulgarian National Revival and an oversize Bavarian doll house, which is about to crash, though the inhabitants don’t seem to be worried. Nimbly adapting to what is happening, they embrace their new roles with humor and self-confidence, keeping the “ship” above sea level and turning the danger into an exciting journey to the unknown. The image is part of a large format installation specially designed for the space of geh8. The installatuon included photographic wall print along with wooden columns, crafted by baj Krustio from Zheravna, Bulgaria. * This element is borrowed from a  documentary photo of the floods that plagued the Balkans this summer.
